HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — At 6:31 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 28), Highland Heights police received multiple calls about wires down across Wilson Mills Road near Interstate 271. Some of the wires were draped atop vehicles.

It was also reported that a vehicle had crashed into a telephone pole.

Upon police and fire arrival, it was determined that multiple live wires were down across the street and on top of vehicles on the street. CEI was immediately notified.

All vehicles involved were extracted from the wires, and no one was hurt.

Officers shut down Wilson Mills Road and the exit ramp to Wilson Mills from I-271 southbound while crews worked to clean up the street and restore power.

One driver was cited for no commercial driver’s license, no license plates and improper load. The driver’s truck was carrying a backhoe.

The road has been reopened to traffic.
