This year, Toyota isn’t taking a back seat when it comes to Super Bowl ads, breaking out the big guns for the new 2022 Toyota Tundra. Leslie Jones, Tommy Lee Jones, and Rashida Jones took the Toyota trucks out in the wilderness to take advantage of the new truck’s off-roading features.

If you were looking for a famous Jones, you found plenty of options in this ad. All of the Jones had a #1JONES license plate on the 2022 Toyota Tundra, trying to out-maneuver the others. Tommy Lee Jones got the black 2022 Tundra, while Leslie Jones got the orange 2022 Tundra TRD Pro. Rashida Jones pulled up in her black Tundra, whipping through the mud.

While the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals faced off for the Super Bowl, this Toyota truck commercial definitely got some looks. While none of these actors are playing football, the Tundra has enough capability to do everything needed. Even when a Jonas brother pulls up and wants to play (sorry, Nick Jonas).

The message behind the ad was that the 2022 Toyota Tundra was “born for this.”

Lisa Materazzo, group vice president of Toyota Marketing for Toyota Motor North America, says, “The all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra has been years in the making, and you only get one chance to make a first impression.” With that, Toyota decided to launch the new Tundra with some big stars at one of the year’s biggest events, the Super bowl.

Not only did Toyota commit to having the “biggest U.S. campaign launch ever, alongside this caliber of star power on the world’s largest advertising stage,” but the ad got a prime slot during the big game. The 60-second ad started the Toyota Halftime Report when all eyes were on the TV anyway.

The 2022 Tundras went through mud, snow, and mountains in the countryside. With the addition of Nick Jonas in his own Tundra, he urged people to Keep up with the “The Joneses.”

Depending on where you watched, Toyota had a few more ads for the 2022 Tundra playing. On Telemundo, a Born to Lend a Hand” commercial played. Another commercial featured Brian and Robin McKeever, two cross-country skiers who earned 10 Paralympic medals. After Brian lost his eyesight, he and Robin went on to win those 10 medals together.

All in all, Toyota used the launch of the new Tundra to bring life to some pretty good television ads. With a towing capacity of 12,000 pounds and a max payload capacity of 1,940 pounds, the Tundra is ready for anything. Even a bunch of Jonas brothers frolicking around in the countryside in mud and snow. The 2022 Tundra starts at $35,950 and is available for ordering now.
