A 33-year-old man was shot and killed on Feb. 16 in the area of Jacksonville Drive and Sanctuary Boulevard, his death witnessed by his 2-year-old daughter, Jacksonville Beach Police Department said.

Increased rewards for information on who is behind Jared Galen Bridegan’s slaying have not led to an arrest.

Now police are seeking the public’s help to find a dark, likely blue, Ford F-150 pickup truck spotted by three security cameras on Shetter Avenue, although Sgt. Tonya Tator said they cannot say why at this point. Just let them know if it was seen the night of the murder or since, she said.

Murder capital of Florida: In 2021, Jacksonville’s homicide total dropped 30 percent. But it wasn’t enough to save Robin Clemons’ son.

“We can’t discuss what the interest is; all I can say is that vehicle is of interest to law enforcement,” Tator said. “… If we can locate it, we can go from there. We are still encouraging the public to come forward with any information they have, particularly now in light of this vehicle.”

The top two images are from surveillance cameras showing the vehicle being sought. The lower photo is an image of a similar blue Ford F-150 Crew Cab pickup truck with running boards, police said.

Officers were called just after 8 p.m. to a report of a person being shot near the exit of The Sanctuary neighborhood. They found Bridegan dead in a wooded area near the road, his daughter not injured, police said.

Handgun shell casings were found at the scene as well as a damaged tire. He was shot at close range outside his vehicle with its hazards lights on and a tire nearby, police previously said.

The Police Department has issued several news releases with updates on rewards and asked people who lived in the area to check their home security camera footage.
