A car thief may not always be targeting your vehicle to steal it but instead, some of its parts. In Los Angeles, police are warning of a rise in car part thefts, in particular for catalytic converters.

It appears to have been a three man job. As one approaches on foot, two more pull up in a truck. The man in the black shirt has a tool in his right hand. When he crawls underneath summers pickup truck, I start screaming at these guys like what the hell are you doing? You’re trying to steal my cattle, they jumped in the truck and they took off. The catalytic converters are big business right now. As the LAPD says, thefts are up, take a look at these thefts from recent investigations. The reason is the metal, they are made from palladium and rhodium which can bring in big box from scrappers. The police informed me that when you have a diesel truck it has a bigger catalyst converter. Therefore there’s more of this precious metal. Summer went to file a police report the next day, but since he stopped the crime officer said there wasn’t much they could do. It’s frustrating to see people trying to Just take your stuff when you work hard for it and replacing a catalytic converter isn’t cheap around $3,000 for summer and since he’s a handyman for a living, he needs his truck running. So he’s sharing this video so others can be on alert to and hopefully prevent themselves from becoming a victim.
