ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. — An elderly woman was critically injured after she was hit by a truck in a Royal Palm Beach parking lot Monday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a Hobby Lobby store located in the 500 block of State Road 7.

A 2020 Ford F-250 was traveling southbound through the parking lot and began to make a left turn into a parking lane, according to a PBSO incident report.

As the truck was turning, investigators said the driver did not see Josephine Scalzo, 84, of Wellington, who was walking west through the parking lot.
The front driver’s side tire of the truck hit Scalzo, knocking her to the ground.
As the driver continued to make a left turn, the back driver’s side tire ran over the victim, the report states.
Scalzo was transported to St Mary’s Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
It is unclear if the driver will be charged.
